The tour
Setting off from Cannes, we cross the channel by kayak to Île Sainte-Marguerite, the largest of the Lérins Islands: a beach with crystal-clear water, a visit to the Fort Royal and secret coves on the other side of the island.
Four hours of swimming, history and adventure: games in the water, snorkelling among the fish, jumps from small rocks, a picnic and an aperitif facing the sea, and the discovery of the most mysterious prison in France. A fun, nature-filled tour with 100% gentle mobility.

Departure from Palm Beach
Meet at the Palm Beach public car park in Cannes: gear, safety briefing and launch.

Crossing the channel
30 minutes of paddling towards Île Sainte-Marguerite, with games in the water along the way.

A beautiful beach with crystal-clear water where we watch the fish, mask on.

The Fort Royal
A visit to the island and the fortress where the Man in the Iron Mask was imprisoned.

The secret coves
On the other side of the island, very private coves: snorkelling, jumps from small rocks, picnic and aperitif, then an easy paddle back to Cannes.
A little history
The Man in the Iron Mask
From 1687 to 1698, the Fort Royal on Île Sainte-Marguerite held the most famous prisoner in French history: a man whose face was always hidden behind a mask, and whose name nobody knew. Later moved to the Bastille, where he died in 1703, he never gave up his secret. Louis XIV’s hidden brother, a valet, a fallen minister? Voltaire and then Alexandre Dumas fed the legend, and his cell can still be visited today.
